Reprint: IEA and EPPEI agree to deepen substantive Cooperation

Fatih Birol, head of International Energy Agency (IEA), said a few days ago that IEA was willing to carry out substantive cooperation with China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute (EPPEI), a subsidiary of Energy China, on fields including energy transformation, new technologies and renewable energy development.

On May 17th,2019, Fatih Birol, together with Xie Zhenhua, China's Special Envoy for Climate Change, visited EPPEI and China’s National Renewable Energy Consumption Monitoring and Warning Platform which is operated by EPPEI. They are acquainted wtih the operational mechanism and current running condition of the platform and fully affirmed its role in China’s energy monitoring, early warning and evaluation after the main function.

Fatih Birol expressed his gratitude to EPPEI for its long-standing support to IEA and fully acknowledged the achievements made by China Liaison Office of IEA which was jontly established by EPPEI and IEA in 2017. The mission of China Liaison Office of IEA is to promote the publicity and application of IEA’s research achievements in China and facilitating the exchanges and cooperation between Chinese energy enterprises, research institutions and IEA.
